This week's Thankful Thursday may look a little different but my heart is still the same...thankful.
I have been thinking about how at times we really press in and pray really really hard for something BIG. Then we are SO grateful and SO thankful and then we wait for the next big thing. But, it doesn't have to be that way. I start every morning off by thanking God for giving me another day...and for His mercy! (Lamentations 3:22-23 It is the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.) Then, I thank Him for the song that He places in my heart each night while I sleep. For a couple of years now I have prayed that the Lord would wake me up with a song in my heart. And each and every single morning...He does! He is SO good and SO faithful in even the littlest of things. (Psalm 108:4 For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.) I am thankful for His blessings, favor, abundance, His ability to move me from surviving to thriving, love, forgiveness, mercy, grace, patience, acceptance, peace, joy, friendship...oh how I could go on! Our Heavenly Father LOVES to give GOOD gifts to His children... they may not all be that "BIG ticket item" you have been waiting on or praying for...but God gives us things each and every single day. Get in obedience, line yourself up with the Word of God, speak what you desire and want into the Kingdom and the Lord will give you the desires of your Heart! (Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.) He is not a genie in a bottle. These things don't happen how we think they should or on our timeline...but they will. (Hebrews 4:16 Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].) One way or another we get what we desire... and often times... He goes ABOVE and BEYOND all of our expectations! (Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.) He shall supply all of your needs. (Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.) Watch your mouth. Seriously... watch what is coming out of your mouth. Life and Death is the power of the tongue...quit speaking negativity over yourself and your life! (Proverbs 18:21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.) You can speak things into existence and frame your life to be what you want...with your words...in some cases... you can frame it to be what you don't want by speaking negatively. Start thanking God for favor, abundance, and blessings and see what happens! What if today you only had what you thanked God for yesterday... think about it! Start praising the one who made you!
